Below are the answers to the most frequently asked questions.
If it didn't help you, do not hesitate to contact us.

How can I bid on the online art auction?

It’s easy. If you are already registered as a user on our site, just start and bid. If you haven’t registered yet, do so by click on the small man icon at the top left or use this link: After registration, you’re ready to participate.

What do I pay at the end?

If you are the lucky winner of the auction, we will ask you to pay:

  • Hammer price (the final bid)
  • Freight cost
  • 18% Buyer Premium
What is Buyers Premium?

Buyer’s premium is a percentage additional charge on the hammer price (winning bid at auction) of the lot that must be paid by the winner.

It is charged by BeArte Gallery as remuneration in addition to the seller’s commission. The buyer’s premium goes directly to BeArte Gallery and not to the seller.

You can read more about Buyer’s premium here

When and how do I pay?

When the auction finishes you’ll receive an email with a link to our checkout and secure payment section.

The amount you pay is first reserved and on the day of shipment when the seller sends you your purchase, we draw your deposit amount.

Can I buy the painting before the auction ends?

It depends if the seller has enabled this functionality for the auction. It’s called ‘Buy now’.

If the function is enabled, you’ll see a box with ‘Buy now for €’ written. Click on this and the artwork is yours.

What is reserved price?

The seller has the right to set a reserved price. If this price is not reached before the auction expires, the auction will be cancelled.

The reserved price is never disclosed, but if it is reached, this will be informed to the bidder.

When will I receive my Artwork?

The seller has 7 working days to ship your winner purchase.

We monitor each step of the process and keeps you informed during all steps.

What if I don't like what I bought?

You have the right to return the purchased item in 14 days after it’s arrival.

Can I withdraw from an auction

You cannot withdraw the participation after your offer is accepted. Participation in the bidding is tantamount to committing to the purchase of the auction item.

Beautiful painting
I have recently purchased a painting which I saw online. It is a very colourful and bold abstract painting. I am now the happy owner of that beautiful painting. I just want to let you know, that Mr Thomas Lyngskjold was more than helpful in concluding the transaction, which was a bit complicated.  He was very patient and the end result is, that the painting is in my apartment and I am looking at it. Thank you again.
