When Trash Becomes Art

Today we were visiting MMCA (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, South Korea). Right now Seoul is welcoming everyone to see the fantastic exhibitions of their local artists.

Among different works and installations “Blooming Matrix” by Choi Jeong Hwa was the one that has engaged the most attention.

Choi Jeong Hwa creates art from the most humble of materials, finding inspiration in soda bottles, shopping bags, and colorful plastic dishes from the 99-cent store. Artist creates garlands made of trash but as a result, this everyday trash becomes a unique art that immediately attracts attention.

This exhibition inspires, brings very positive vibes, gives a feeling that every piece has a second life. Looking at these fantastic garlands you realize that even simple, maybe unuseful stuff can become a great decoration or a work of art, all you have to do is switch your imagination.
